Circlip is also known as C Clip or Retaining Ring Or E Clips. Circlip is a fastener or in a more precise word it is a retaining ring or fastening ring .It is a metal ring with two ends. These ends can be fixed on a shaft or in to Groove to allow or to lock the rotation. At the same time lateral movement is prevented.
Strength of any circlip depends upon quality of the material used. External circlips and Internal circlips are two main types. They are used for shafts or Bore with grooves. External and Internal circlips are often used in applications where they are subjected to strong centrifugal forces. As far as thickness and radial width is considered these circlips are the best solution. Because they transfer large amount of axial forces from corresponding machine component to the groove wall.Both external rings and internal rings can be used in high speed applications. As far as diamentions are concerned our product does not correspond to American standards.
In Internal Circlips both the ends project inside where as in External Circlips they project towards outside. Circlips produced from wires are having two sides , one is smooth and another is rough. While fixing the circlip over shaft, rough side is kept out and smooth side is kept inside, and while fixing the circlip in Bore, rough side is kept inside and smooth side is kept outside .
